SAKINA ASHRAF ALAKBAROVA
Sakina Alakbarova was born in 1906. She finished a secondary school and then a gymnasium in Ashgabat.
In 1935, she graduated with honors from Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Faculty of Nature, embarking on postgraduate studies at the Department of Physics and Colloidal Chemistry, BSU. She started a teaching career after completing her postgraduate studies in 1939. In 1944, she defended a PhD thesis.
In 1950, Sakina Alakbarova was made an associate professor at the Department of Physical Chemistry. From 1952 to 1958 and from 1980 to 1982, she was elected dean of the Faculty of Chemistry. From 1958 to 1965, Sakina Alakbarova chaired the Department of Physics and Colloidal Chemistry.
In 1976, she obtained a ScD degree, and became a professor of physical chemistry. The results of her research and teaching activities were featured in 85 papers, including three brochures. She supervised six PhD students to completion.
