ZIYADDIN AJDAR SADIQOV
Ziyaddin Sadiqov was born on 22 December 1934. In 1954, he entered Baku State University, Faculty of Chemistry, graduating with honors in 1959. From 1959 to 1962, he did postgraduate studies at the faculty. After completing his postgraduate education he served as a teaching assistant and a senior teacher at the Department of Organic Chemistry. In 1965, he became an associate professor at the Department of Chemistry of Higher Molecular Compounds, which he chaired from 1965 to 1983. In 1963, he achieved a PhD degree after defending a thesis on “Researches into the synthesis of viscous additives with lubricant oils”. In 1980, he defended a ScD thesis on “Copolymerization of isobutylene with derivatives of styrene and regulations of their destruction in solution”.
His research interests laid in sopolymerization reaction of styrene and some of its derivatives together with isobutylene, and regularities of destruction of sopolymers. He contributed to the formation of scientific fundamentals of chemistry of higher molecular compounds in Azerbaijan. He published 60 papers, and was the holder of three authorship certificates. He supervised six PhD students to completion. Ziyaddin Sadiqov attended numerous international an all-union conferences and symposia. He worked as secretary and deputy editor of “BSU researches” chemical series. He was the recipient of the “Medal for Distinguished Labor”, “Leading Higher School Employee” badge, a certificate of recognition for his outstanding contribution to the promotion of scientific knowledge, and a certificates of recognition of “Bilik” Society.
