TAHMAZ NASIB QULIYEV
Tahmaz Quliyev was born on 10 May 1935. In 1953, he completed his secondary education. He entered Baku State University, Faculty of Chemistry, in 1954. He graduated in 1959. From 1959 to 1962, he served as a laboratory assistant at the faculty. He spent from 1962 to 1965 as a postgraduate student at the Moscow-based Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry, USSR Academy of Sciences. In 1966, he defended a PhD thesis, and obtained a ScD degree in 1999. In 1965, he worked as a teaching assistant and senior teacher, and from 1970 to 2002 as an associate professor at BSU. From 1968 to 1975, Tahmaz Quliyev served as deputy dean, department chair and head of trade unions committee at the Faculty of Chemistry. He addressed more than 20 local and international conferences and research seminars. He published more than 60 papers, and authored two textbooks. He supervised two postgraduate students. Tahmaz Quliyev served as a professor at BSU Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry from 2001 until his death.
