NURADDIN SALMAN SADIQOV
Nuraddin Sadiqov was born on 20 November 1937. He completed his secondary education in 1956. In 1959, he entered Baku State University, Faculty of Chemistry, graduating in 1964. From 1964 to 1967, he served as a laboratory assistant at the faculty. From 1967 to 1970, he did postgraduate studies at BSU Department of Organic Chemistry. At this department, he was a senior laboratory assistant from 1970 to 1972, a teaching assistant, senior teacher and associate professor from 1972 to 1994. Nuraddin Sadiqov was a professor at the department from 1994 until his death. In 1971, he defended a PhD thesis, and obtained a ScD in 1993. He was made a professor of organic chemistry in 1994. His major research fields included methods of synthesizing – on the basis of β-dicarbonate compounds and α-, β-unsaturated ketones – furans, pyrazoles, barbiturates, etc., and their biological activity. He published 80 papers, and a textbook. He supervised a PhD student to completion. Nuraddin Sadiqov addressed a number of international congresses and symposia in CIS countries, Austria and Turkey.
