LATIF MAMMAD GULAHMADOV
Latif Gulahmadov was born on 5 March 1940. In 1958, he entered Baku State University, Faculty of Chemistry. He completed his higher education in 1963. From 1966 to 1969, he was a part-time postgraduate student at BSU Department of Organic Chemistry. From 1969 to 1971, he served as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, where he worked as a teaching assistant from 1971 to 1976, senior teacher from 1976 to 1982 and associate professor from 1982 to 1992. He served as a professor at this department from 1992 until his death. In 1971, he defended a PhD thesis, and achieved a ScD degree in 1991. In 1992, he was made a professor of organic chemistry. Latif Gulahmadov`s research interests laid in the production of multi-function derivatives on the basis of hydroquinone. He published 70 papers and several methodological handbooks. He was the holder of several authorship certificates. He supervised two PhD students to completion. Latif Gulahmadov synthesized more than 350 new organic substances. He addressed several international research conferences in Moscow, Riga, Ufa, Tbilisi and Baku.
