SARDAR MAHAMMAD HAJIYEV
Sardar Hajiyev was born on 22 April 1940. In 1957, he entered Baku State University, Faculty of Chemistry, graduating in 1962. The same year he started postgraduate studies at Saint Petersburg State University, Faculty of Chemistry.
In 1966, he defended a PhD thesis, getting a ScD degree in 1987. In 1966, he embarked on his career at BSU, where he served as a teaching assistant, senior teacher and associate professor at the Department of Physical Chemistry.
From 1989 to1994, he chaired the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry.
In 1990, Sardar Hajiyev became a professor of general and inorganic chemistry. He is now a professor at the Department of Physical and Colloidal Chemistry.
His research interests lie in the establishment of the physical and chemical fundamentals of the synthesis of chalcohalogenides and prediction of qualities of elements for their electronic structure.
He has published more than 90 papers, including three books. Sardar Hajiyev is the holder of four authorship certificates. He has supervised four PhD students to completion, and addressed nearly 20 international and All-Union conferences.
He is the recipient of seven certificates of recognition of the Ministry of Education. From 1973 to 1976, he taught physical chemistry in French at Boumerdes Research Center in Algeria.
