MIRZA ALAKBAR ALLAHVERDIYEV
Mirza Allahverdiyev was born on 17 September 1947. In 1965, he entered Baku State University, Faculty of Chemistry, graduating with honors in 1970. The same year he embarked on his postgraduate studies in organic chemistry at the Academy of Sciences` Institute of Chemistry of Admixtures, Laboratory of Theoretical Fundamentals of Synthesis of Admixtures and Influence Mechanisms. In 1974, he defended a PhD thesis and achieved a ScD degree in 1990. In 1992, Mirza Allahverdiyev was made a professor. From 1973 to 1988 he spent at the Institute of Chemistry of Admixtures, Academy of Sciences, where he served as a junior and then senior research fellow. In 1988, he became laboratory head. In 2000, he was made a professor at the Department of Organic Chemistry, BSU. He also head the Laboratory of Theoretical Fundamentals of Synthesis of Admixtures and Influence Mechanisms. Mirza Allahverdiyev has published 850 papers and 20 books. He was the holder of 105 authorship certificates and patents. He had supervised three ScD and 27 PhD students to completion. He had served as academic secretary at the Thesis Council, BSU, since 2000. Mirza Allahverdiyev was the recipient of “Leading Education Worker” badge, “Taraqqi” and “Academician Yusif Mammadaliyev” medals, and ANAS certificates of recognition.
