SABIT EYYUB MAMMADOV
Sabit Mammadov was born on 28 October 1951. In 1968, he entered Baku State University, Faculty of Chemistry. In 1973, he started working as a teacher in the city of Zaqatala. In 1975, he started his postgraduate studies at the Institute of Petrochemical Processes, ANAS, where he served as a junior research fellow from 1978 to 1981. In 1981, he joined BSU as a senior research fellow, and then worked as a leading research fellow. In 1991, he became a senior teacher at the Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Technologies, BSU. In 1981, he defended a PhD thesis, obtaining a ScD degree in 1998. His major research areas include synthesis of metal zeolite catalysts and processes they are involved in. He is conducting extensive researches in the field of zeolite catalysis, contributing to the creation of new type catalysts for industrially important processes (isomerization, alkyllation, deparaffinization, pyrolysis). Sabit Mammadov is a professor at the department of Physical and Colloidal Chemistry, BSU. He has published 250 papers, and is the holder of 10 patents. He has supervised more than 40 masters, six PhD and one ScD student to completion. He is the recipient of “Taraqqi” Medal. Sabit Mammadov chairs Educational and Methodological Council, Faculty of Chemistry, and sits on D.02.011 Thesis Council under BSU.
