IBRAHIM QARIB MAMMADOV
Ibrahim Mammadov was born on 16 October 1970. He completed his secondary education in 1988. In 1992, he entered Baku State University, Faculty of Chemistry, graduating with honors in 1997. The same year he started his career at the university, serving as a junior research fellow at the Laboratory of the Chemistry of Alkylphenols and Carbonyl Compounds under the Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Technology, Faculty of Chemistry. In 2004, he defended a PhD thesis, and obtained a ScD degree in 2011. In 2007, he was made an associate professor at the Department of Petrochemistry and Chemical Technology, where he was appointed a professor in 2013. Ibrahim Mammadov was the first to synthesize chalcone, flavanone and other phenol series representing practical importance, and he is studying their solutions through 1H, 13C, 31P, 17O and NMR methods, and regularities of their structure and features. He has published more than 120 papers, and authored four books. Ibrahim Mammadov is the holder of five patents. He is a member of thesis and faculty scientific councils at BSU.
