NAMIQ QURBAT SHIKHALIYEV
Namiq Shikhaliyev was born on 18 December 1970 in Bilasuvar district. In 1997, he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Chemistry. In 2000, he defended a PhD thesis on “Covalent bond between nucleofuge perchlorate and sulfonate anions in electrophilic addition reactions”. In 2015, he successfully defended a ScD thesis on “New approaches in organic synthesis and coordination chemistry based on catalytic olefination reaction”.
Based on catalyzed olefination reaction of different carbonyl compounds, he synthesized functional bisalkenes, and defined their synthetic opportunities in organic synthesis and coordination chemistry.
Namiq Shikhaliyev established the fundamentals of template synthesis method of triazapentadien complexes and discovered non-covalent halogen-halogen bonds in factors facilitating complex emergence, particularly in synthesized complexes, and studied catalytic activity of these complexes. He also defined the advantages of conducting catalyzed olefination reaction in ionic liquids.
The results of his researches were published in “New Journal of Chemistry”, “Catalysis Today”, “Journal of Molecular Structure”, “Beilstein J. Org. Chem”, “Журнал Органической Химии”, “Химия гетероциклических соединений”, and “Известия РАН” journals.
