JABRAYIL ALAKBAR HUSEYNOV
Jabrayil Huseynov was born on 13 January 1914. From 1930 to 1935, he studied at Azerbaijan Industrial Institute (present-day ADNA), Faculty of Chemistry and Technology.
In 1950, he defended a PhD thesis, getting a ScD degree and professorship in 1962. He was the author of many inventions used in industry.
He held high positions at Baku Oil Refinery, Azerneftyagh and Synthethic Rubber Factory.
He devoted his career to modernizing the technology of production and improving the quality of lubricating oils made of Azerbaijani oil.
From 1961 to 1967, Jabrayil Huseynov served as dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, and chaired the Department of Chemical Technology at BSU.
His lectures on oil technology were published in a three-volume textbook, which was translated into Romanian and Chinese. He published seven monographs and 187 papers. He was the author of 10 patents. Jabrayil Huseynov supervised eight PhD students to completion.
In 1959, he was elected a deputy of Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan SSR from the city of Sumgayit.
He was the recipient of several medals.
