In 1966 he was admitted to the Faculty of Chemistry of AUL and graduated in 1971 with honors. Then he entered the graduate school of the Institute of Inorganic and Physical Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Azerbaijan SSR (KUFKI) and was sent to the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the USSR Academy of Sciences to carry out scientific research. In 1975-1985, he worked as an engineer, junior and senior researcher in the "Catalysis" laboratory at the Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences.

In 1975 he was a candidate of organic chemistry at the Scientific Council of the USSR Academy of Sciences named after N. Zelinski on the topic "Transformation of olefins on zeolite catalysts", and in 1984 at the Scientific Council of the Institute "Zeolite and element for oxidative-dehydrogenation and pyrolysis processes. on the basis of silicates and new catalytic systems ".

His scientific and pedagogical activities are reflected in 300 scientific works, including 2 monographs, 8 textbooks and teaching aids, 33 copyright certificates and patents. He has prepared 2 doctors of sciences and 9 candidates of sciences. In 1986, he was awarded the Medal for Distinguished Service. At present, he is the head of the "Biophysics and Bioorganic Chemistry" department of the Azerbaijan Medical University, since 2014 he is the director of the Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry of ANAS named after MF Nagiyev.
