IRADA MAMMAD HUSEYNOVA
In 1987, he graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry of Baku State University, and entered the graduate school at the Institute of Botany of the Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, majoring in "Molecular Biology". He defended his PhD in 1994 and his doctoral dissertation in 2004. In 2007 he was elected a corresponding member of ANAS, and in 2014 a full member. IM Huseynova's scientific activity is a complex study of molecular-genetic mechanisms of synthesis, accumulation and formation of pigment-protein complexes, which are the main structural and functional components of photosynthetic membranes of higher plants, determination of possible role of photosynthetic changes in adaptation of plants to extreme conditions and abiotic (drought) , salinity, radiation) and biotic (virus, phytoplasma, insect) stress. IM Huseynova is the author of more than 260 scientific works, 2 monographs, 1 book, 5 book chapters, 1 methodical aid. Under his leadership, 3 doctors of philosophy in biology were trained. He is a member of the International Society for Photosynthesis Research, the European Society of Biochemists and Molecular Biologists, the European Society of Plant Biologists, the Presidium of the Azerbaijan Society of Biochemists and Molecular Biologists and the Azerbaijan Society of Plant Physiologists. He is a professor at the Department of Biophysics and Molecular Biology of BSU.
