MAJID AHAD MARDANOV
He entered the faculty of chemistry of AUL in 1934 and graduated with honors in 1939. In 1948, he was admitted to the Azerbaijan Scientific Research Institute of Oil Refining named after VV Kuybishev as an engineer. He has been the Chief Engineer of the Special Fuels and Additives Laboratory since 1949; From 1952 to the end of his life he worked as the head of the laboratory. MA Mardanov defended his candidate's dissertation in 1953, and his doctoral dissertation in 1962, and in 1964 he was awarded the title of professor. Since 1959, MA Mardanov has worked as the First Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs at the newly established Institute of Petrochemical Processes. Prof. Under the leadership of MA Mardanov, for the first time in the former USSR, a technology for the separation of cyclopentadiene from liquid products of the pyrolysis process with a high degree of purity was developed. MA Mardanov was awarded the title of "Honored Scientist". He was the editor-in-chief of the scientific magazine "News of Azerbaijani higher technical schools", a member of the editorial staff of the socio-political-international magazine "Double Star" and the newspaper "Vyshka". Acad. SFGarayev was awarded the titles of "Excellence in Petrochemical and Oil Refining Industry of the USSR", "Honorary Chemist of the USSR", Honored Scientist of Azerbaijan. He was awarded the Order of Glory in 2012. He is the author of 16 scientific inventions and 5 monographs. He is the editor-in-chief of "News" collection of ANAS published in Ganja. The scientist has been the chairman of the Ganja City Intellectuals Society since 1996, and the deputy chairman of the Ganja city branch of the New Azerbaijan Party. F.Aliyev was awarded the "Progress" medal by the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2005, and the title of Honored Scientist in 2006.
